SPi was present at FLIP 2025

SPi attended the 23rd edition of FLIP - Paraty International Literary Festival, in Brazil, to talk about screenwriting and adapting literary works for the big and small screen.

The panel on the theme “Brazil and Portugal: voices in dialogue” - Writing to see: cinema, screenplay, and representation, was attended by SPi's Director General of Content, Pedro Lopes, and the executive producer of Anonymus Content, Barbara Teixeira, curated by writers Andréa del Fuego and Afonso Cruz.

In this session, which took place last Saturday, August 2, at Casa de Portugal, Pedro Lopes and Bárbara Teixeira had the opportunity to present their views to a large audience on how series and films produced in Portuguese have gained ground in the international audiovisual scene and how to write for cinema from Brazil and Portugal.

FLIP expands democratic access to culture, acting as a bridge between the literary world and the diverse communities of Paraty and Brazil. At FLIP venues, the ticket policy reflects this commitment to inclusion.

Over five days, authors such as Ondjaki, Anabela Mota Ribeiro, and Ricardo Araújo Pereira visited Casa de Portugal.

This year's FLIP program also featured writers Rosa Montero, Valter Hugo Mãe, Sandro Veronesi, Neige Sinno, Ilan Pappe, Dolores Reyes, Dahlia de la Cerda, Gael Faye, Gregorio Duvivier, Arnaldo Antunes, Liv Strömqvist, Alia Trabuco Zerán, and Minister Marina Silva.

The program is also broadcast live, free of charge, on the FLIP website, YouTube channel, and Arte1 TV channel, bringing literary discussions to audiences across the country.
