Actors celebrate GLORIA's Globos de Ouro

In the year SIC celebrates 30 years of broadcasting, the 26th edition of the Globos de Ouro held yesterday, October 2, at the Coliseu dos Recreios, in Lisbon, was a night of Gloria for SP Televisão, with the first Portuguese Netflix original series, produced by SPi, becoming one of the big winners, winning two statuettes in the Fiction category, one for Best Project and another for Best Actor.

To receive the trophy for Best Fiction Project, João Pedro Lopes, CEO of SP Televisão, Pedro Lopes, General Director of Content at SP Televisão and author of Gloria, and producer Sérgio Baptista took the stage. Some actors from the cast of Glória were also present, such as Carolina Amaral, Afonso Pimentel, Victoria Guerra, Adriano Luz and Maria João Pinho.

For Pedro Lopes, "Glória was first a dream, which for years was kept in a notebook awaiting the right moment to go on screen," he says, adding: "Many good stories never get produced, so I feel privileged that SPi, Netflix and RTP have invested in this project, but above all I feel privileged to have met such talented and generous people who have made this series what it is. With this production we showed our country to new audiences, and it became evident to everyone the strength and creativity of our audiovisual industry. But the recognition that we have in our country is always the most important, and the Globos de Ouro have played an important role in promoting the arts and bringing the public closer to culture."

Miguel Nunes, who plays João Vidal, an engineer who works at RARET, couldn't be happier with this Globo de Ouro. At 34 years old, the actor guarantees that this is also a collective recognition. "I can only leave my deepest gratitude to the team with whom I did the series Gloria. It was a very happy milestone in my journey and I honestly hope that all these people have the opportunity to continue to show their qualities in Audiovisual, Cinema or Portuguese Theatre because, effectively, they do it with love and respect."

Also nominated for their participation in Gloria were Afonso Pimentel (Best Actor), Victoria Guerra (Best Actress) and Carolina Amaral (in the Revelation category). Also to be congratulated are the two actors who make up the cast of SIC's latest telenovela, Sangue Oculto, produced by SP Televisão. Anabela Moreira and Adriano Luz, who won a Globo de Ouro, were both distinguished in the categories of Best Film Actress and Best Theatre Actor, respectively.
