SPTV Group Shines at MIPCOM 2025

SP Televisão and SPi are taking part in this year’s edition of MIPCOM, the world’s largest international market for audiovisual content, taking place in Cannes, France, from October 13 to 16, 2025, at the Palais des Festivals.

As part of the festival, on October 14, an event organized by the Portugal Film Commission took place under the theme “Tune in to Portugal.” The initiative aimed to showcase several national projects, including successful co-productions. One of the highlights was the series Cold Haven, a co-production between SPi, Iceland’s Glassriver, RTP, and Símmin.

On this occasion, João Maia Abreu, Executive Director of Business and Co-Productions at SPi, took the stage to present the project to a large audience that included potential partners as well as representatives from RTP and Glassriver.

At the same time, Portugal once again has a joint stand promoted by the Portugal Film Commission in partnership with the Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual (ICA), the Associação de Produtores Independentes de Televisão (APIT), and national broadcasters RTP, SIC, and TVI. The Portuguese space, under the identity “Portugal – The Bright Side of Content,” aims to promote national talent, international co-productions, and the unique conditions Portugal offers for filming and audiovisual post-production.

SP Televisão is bringing three of its latest productions to Cannes — Vitória, The Last Will, and The Medalists. Meanwhile, SPi is highlighting the series Cold Haven, Algodão a Frio, and Red Moon – New Generation at the APIT stand. Cold Haven is also featured at MIPCOM at the stand of international distributor APC, further expanding the reach and international recognition of this SPi co-production.

The SPTV Group’s presence at the event underscores its commitment to internationalization and to promoting Portuguese talent on one of the industry’s biggest global stages.

Considered the global meeting point for the television industry, MIPCOM brings together producers, distributors, and buyers from over 100 countries, offering a prime platform for presenting new projects and establishing international partnerships. This year’s theme is “The Creator Economy: Powering MIPCOM 2025,” with the goal of placing digital creators at the centre of the entertainment industry, integrating them more closely with traditional producers, platforms, brands, and distributors.
