Lia Fietz Wins Best Actress Award at AVANCA 2026 for PASSPORT
Actress Lia Fietz has been awarded Best Actress at the 30th edition of the AVANCA International Film Festival for her performance in the short film PASSPORT, directed by Portuguese filmmaker Tiago Pimentel.
Produced by SPi, PASSPORT follows Ana, a young Portuguese woman who, upon arriving in the United States, is subjected to an intense immigration interrogation. What begins as a routine procedure gradually turns into a deeply unsettling experience, exploring themes of individual freedom, institutional power, and moral judgment.
With this award, PASSPORT adds another significant achievement to its festival journey, further strengthening the short film’s international recognition and highlighting the outstanding work of Lia Fietz, director Tiago Pimentel, and the entire creative team behind the project.
