Micro-series and storytelling on vertical screens to be discussed at the Catholic University
The phenomenon of micro-series, fictional productions with episodes lasting just over a minute, designed for viewing on mobile phones – will be discussed on 17 April at 6.30 pm at the Faculty of Humanities of the Portuguese Catholic University (FCH-Católica) in Lisbon, during the session My story went vertical. From China to the World.
The initiative follows the Portuguese premiere of the first five micro-series produced by SPi, available on RTP Play and RTP’s social media channels: HERANÇA FATAL, A CASA DOS OUTROS, ALÉM DO SILÊNCIO, SEXTORTION and SABORES DE AMOR.
The session will feature experts and professionals from the audiovisual sector, including Manuel Amaro da Costa, director and producer of the first five micro-dramas, Pedro Lopes, General Director of Content at the SPTV Group, José Fragoso, Programme Director at RTP1, as well as the actors Rita Bretão, lead actress in the micro-series HERANÇA FATAL, Diogo Lopes, lead actor in the micro-series ALÉM DO SILÊNCIO, and Vera Moura, lead actress in the micro-series SABORES DE AMOR. The talk will be moderated by Catarina Duff Burnay, Director of FCH-Católica.
According to Pedro Lopes, the driving force behind this format in Portugal, this new format responds to “the growing diversification of media and the fragmentation of the audience’s attention”, adapting audiovisual storytelling to consumption on mobile devices.
