PASSPORT, produced by SPi, selected for the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival

The short film PASSPORT, produced by SPi, has been selected for the 16th edition of the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival (NYPSFF), taking place on Tuesday, July 7, at Lincoln Center in New York City. The festival is a leading platform dedicated to promoting Portuguese short films on the international stage.

Directed by Tiago Pimentel and written by Lia Fietz, PASSPORT follows a Portuguese woman who, upon arriving in the United States, is subjected to what initially appears to be a routine immigration interview. As the questioning intensifies, the encounter evolves into an unsettling exploration of power, exposing the fragile boundaries between individual freedom and institutional control while raising thought-provoking questions about moral judgment in contemporary society.

PASSPORT's inclusion in the festival's official selection highlights the growing international recognition of Portuguese audiovisual productions and showcases SPi's commitment to creating compelling stories with global appeal.
