PASSPORT Wins Two Awards at the International Film Festival Manhattan

The short film PASSPORT, produced by SPi, has received two awards at the International Film Festival Manhattan in New York, winning Best Short Film and Best Actress, awarded to Lia Fietz.

Directed by Tiago Pimentel, and written by and starring Lia Fietz, PASSPORT follows Ana, a young Portuguese woman who is detained for questioning upon arriving in the United States. What begins as a routine bureaucratic procedure turns into an unsettling and oppressive experience, challenging individual freedom and exposing the limits of institutional power and moral judgment.

The International Film Festival Manhattan proudly showcases diverse voices in global cinema, honoring excellence in storytelling and celebrating extraordinary talent from across the international film industry.

These two awards further strengthen PASSPORT's international journey, following its previous recognition with the Best Narrative Short award at the Denver Indie Film Festival and an Honorable Mention at the Hollywood ShortsFest, among other accolades.

This double victory marks another significant milestone for both PASSPORT and SPi, further raising the international profile of Portuguese audiovisual production and recognizing the talent and dedication of the entire cast and crew involved in the project.
