SPi in the spotlight at Content Europe in Lisbon

From 21 to 23 April 2026, Lisbon will host Content Europe, one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to the audiovisual industry, bringing together professionals from the worlds of television, streaming, content production and distribution.

This year’s edition includes the Spotlight on Portugal panel, dedicated to promoting the national market on the international stage.

In this context, SPi was represented by its Executive Director of International Business and Co-productions, João Maia Abreu, who discussed the evolution of Portuguese fiction, its growth beyond borders, and the role of co-productions and digital platforms in this journey.

The panel also featured José Fragoso, Head of Programming at RTP,  Joana Domingues, Executive Producer at Caracol Studios, José Amaral, Executive Producer at 4 Second Way, and Manuel Claro, Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual.

SPi’s participation in this international context reinforces its position as one of the leading players in Portuguese fiction abroad, consolidating its role in the development of projects with global ambition and in establishing Portugal as a key creative hub in the European audiovisual industry.
