SPi Presents Portuguese Project “LINHA” at Serielizados Fest in Barcelona

SPi is taking part in the Serielizados Fest – Barcelona International Series Festival, which takes place in Spain from 19 to 28 October. Represented by João Maia Abreu, and selected as one of ten international projects to be presented to industry partners and potential clients, the production company is participating in the event with LINHA, a six-episode drama-comedy series aimed at young adults. The series explores themes such as anxiety and the search for belonging, addiction, racism, sexism, mental health and privilege.

The selection brings together projects from five European countries, reflecting the diversity of creative proposals and the festival’s international scope. Of the 10 selected projects, five are from Spain, two from Finland, one from Latvia, one from Iceland and one from Portugal, represented by SPi’s LINHA.

Founded by the team behind the digital magazine Serielizados, the festival has established itself as one of Spain’s leading events dedicated entirely to television drama. It aims to promote television series as a form of artistic and cultural expression, bringing together creators, screenwriters, directors, producers, actors and other professionals from across the audiovisual industry.

Over 10 days, Serielizados Fest offers a diverse programme featuring national and international premieres, documentary screenings, live podcast recordings, masterclasses and discussions with industry professionals. The festival also serves as a platform for networking and exchanging ideas, fostering connections between creators, production companies and potential international partners.

The selection of LINHA provides an opportunity to showcase the Portuguese project on an international stage, establish new industry connections and explore potential partnerships and development opportunities within the European audiovisual market.

SPi’s participation in Serielizados Fest further strengthens its internationalisation strategy, reflecting the company’s continued commitment to developing original fiction projects and creating opportunities to bring Portuguese audiovisual productions to new markets and audiences worldwide.
